Mexican officials are already getting ready for talks leading to possible reconstruction of the North American Free Trade Agreement. That’s according to Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley who says they already began that process prior to one of their Senators calling for stoppage of imports of U.S. corn into their country.

He says the Mexican Senators move to call for stopping their import of U.S. corn is likely only a ploy tied to NAFTA negotiations.

Grassley says the President and trade negotiators need to be careful when redoing NAFTA that they don’t put U.S. agriculture at risk.

President Trump has not indicated yet what he wants changed in NAFTA although auto manufacturing is expected to be a big target.
