Farmers shouldn’t panic because the House Senate Conference Committee failed to pass a new farm bill before expiration of the 2014 measure September 30. That’s according to Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley who expects either an extension or a final new bill sometime yet this year.

He says history has proven that some type of farm bill will pass.

Grassley also criticized House Ag Committee Chairman Mike Conaway for pushing for more payments for cotton producers at the expense of other crop producers.

Grassley has been pushing for payment limitations in the farm bill for some time now.
