An Iowa Senate Committee passed a fifty-million-dollar budget cut last week that will come in the current year budget that ends June 30th.

Senator Randy Feenstra, a republican from Hull, says they don’t want to come back again later in the year…..

Feenstra says they tried to shield education from any major cuts…..

After the cuts were announced, officials with the Judicial Branch said up to thirty county courthouses could close.
Feenstra says that can’t happen……

Governor Kim Reynolds had proposed about thirty-five million dollars in cuts to balance the budget.
