Monte Shaw, Executive Director of the Iowa Renewable Fuel Association is running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Iowa’s District 3 which includes the City of Des Moines. He joins 5 other candidates running for the Republican nomination to replace retiring Congressman Tom Latham.  Shaw says one of his main reasons for running is to see the government run properly and effectively.

Shaw says his main goal is to create jobs and improve the economy.

Shaw says it’s been proven that if the ag economy is doing well in Iowa then the rest of the economy follows suit.

Others running for the G-O-P nomination include former Congressional aide David Young, State Elections Chief Matt Schultz, State Senator Brad Zaun, Elementary teacher Joe Grandanette, and Construction Contractor Robert Cramer.
