Magellan Midstream Partners is now offering pre-blended E15 at 50 of its U.S. terminals and all of their facilities in Iowa. Iowa Renewable Fuel Association Policy Director Grant Menke says the move by Magellan will mean more E15 available and sold to consumers.

He says with the pre-blended option, retailers don’t have to have flex fuel pumps to sell E15.

Menke says the next hurdle to get more E15 to motorists is for the EPA to lift the Reid Vapor Pressure rule and let the fuel be offered year-round.

E15 is approved for all 2001 and newer vehicles. It has an 88 octane rating, which increases vehicle performance. It also reduces cancer causing pollutants and greenhouse gas tailpipe emissions.
