The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, State Corn and Soybean Grower Associations along with the Iowa Biodiesel Board have written to President Trump asking him to direct the EPA to reject all gap small refiner waiver requests. IRFA Executive Director Monte Shaw says while the groups are thankful the President signed the disaster aid for the derecho storm, says the ag economy needs the help a strong biofuels policy would provide.

He says President Trump has not followed through with his earlier promise that the RFS standard of 15 billion gallons would be upheld.

Shaw says another problem the President needs to address is to make sure the EPA gets out the RFS volume levels this year for the 2021 RFS standard.

Shaw says while IRFA and the other Iowa groups are thankful for the derecho aid, the state won’t complete it’s long road back to normal without robust and stable markets for Iowa’s crops and biofuels.
