The Iowa Board of Regents is expected to consider a plan put forward by Iowa State University for a new research center. The purpose of the Center is to improve the productivity and profit of soybean producers. Iowa Soybean Association President Brian Kemp who farms near Sibley says he’s excited about the possibility and the potential benefits.
Kemp says the new center if approved will bring together the Association with Iowa State University and solidify efforts to bring better and more unified direction for research.
Kemp says if allowed to go forward it will be an enhanced public and private partnership working together for the common goal of advancing the state’s soybean industry.
The Board of Regents meet Wednesday and Thursday in Ames at Iowa State University.
