The USDA has included liquid egg producers as being eligible for CFAP assistance. Iowa is the number one egg producer in the country. Iowa Poultry Association CEO and Executive Director Kevin Stiles is pleased by the Ag Secretary’s decision allowing this needed support for the egg industry.
He says the pandemic hurt the food service industry which in turn devastated Iowa’s liquid egg producers.
Stiles says the CFAP aid won’t make producers whole but will give them some needed help.
Iowa’s Governor, State Ag Secretary and both Senators praised the USDA for their decision to include liquid egg producers for the CFAP assistance. All of them wrote to Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue requesting the aid.
