Iowa Pork Producers Association is having its own version of “March Madness” as it has launched a campaign asking people to vote for their favorite pulled pork sandwich from 16 different restaurants across the state.  Hanna Spurr is the Consumer Outreach Director for the Iowa Pork Producers Association and says the restaurants have been selected from different regions across the state.

Spurr says the selected restaurants were based on the number of votes each restaurant had received.  The Iowa poork official says the competition is a fun way to recognize restaurants across the state, while having an increase in demand for pork.

Spurr says the rules and the parameters for the best pulled pork sandwich are fairly flexible.  She says the deadline for the pulled pork contest is this week.

The brackets of the restaurants competing against each other can be found on the Iowa Pork Producers Association website.
