The Iowa Pork Producers Association along with The Iowa Pork Industry Center at Iowa State University is teaming up to offer a series of economic recovery webinars for pig farmers. The first webinar was held Wednesday night. IPPA CEO Pat McGonegle says the purpose of the webinars is to provide timely information to help keep producers from going under.

He says pork producers need help as they have been up against an average loss of $37 per pig this year and when all the numbers are added up, it becomes a $2.1 billion loss to Iowa’s 5400 pig farmers.

McGonegle says the three remaining webinars on August 26, September 2 and September 9 will feature three different speakers.

McGonegle says the webinars will be recorded and available for viewing, one week after each webinar. For more information go to IowaPork.org.
