The Iowa Utilities Board has issued an order to review the program that requires people to call and have underground utilities marked before they dig. I-U-B spokesman, Donald Tormey says the Utilities Board and the Iowa Attorney General’s Office received a federal grant to support this effort.

The program Iowa One Call allows people to call for free and have the underground utilities marked, but some people and companies still don’t do it. Tormey says the I-U-B is looking for information on how to improve the whole process.

The Board also plans to schedule a workshop for February 27th where interested persons may discuss the information provided by the utilities, ask questions, and respond to questions.
