This week, Iowa State Lawmakers voted to fund for another year, the state’s Renewable Fuels Infrastructure program. Iowa Renewable Fuels Association Managing Director Lucy Norton says the program was given funding for another year to run through June of 2020.
She says retailers can receive up to a maximum of $50,000 for dispensers and $100,000 maximum for storage tanks. Norton says the program which started in 2006 has been very successful with close to 800 projects funded over that time.
She says they expect even more interest from retailers once the Reid Vapor Pressure rule is lifted by the EPA and E-15 can be offered year round.
Norton says not only has the blender pump program benefited retailers with installation cost assistance, it also has helped consumers with more renewables available at the pump. She says it’s increased consumer fuel choice and promoted private economic investment
