Iowa Ham Challenge

Iowa Ham Challenge

During the holiday season, many people think of others that may be less fortunate, and they tend to make food donations to their local food pantry or food bank.  The Iowa Pork Producers Association as part of their “We Care” campaign has implemented a “ham challenge.”  Pork producers have donated either ham or other pork product meats and have extended a challenge to others to do the same to protect food security.  Dal Grooms is the Director of Communications for the Iowa Pork Producers Association, and while the final numbers have yet to be tabulated, Grooms says social media posts prove that it has been a successful program.   Grooms says the donation program prompted several elected officials to participate in the food donation program.  The Iowa Pork Producers official says people can still participate in the program.  Grooms ask that you tag the Iowa Pork Producers Association when you make your ham or other pork donation.
