Jim Field, John Deere’s president of Ag & Turf won the 36th annual Iowa Governor’s Charity Steer Show on Saturday. The steer was owned by Emma Sinclair of Williamsburg. The event is hosted by the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association and the Iowa Beef Industry Council. Council Chair Steve Rehder says it’s a great promotion for their product.

He says they’ve raised millions of dollars for the Ronald McDonald houses of Iowa during the last 35 years of the show.

Rehder says they couldn’t support a better charity than the Ronald McDonald houses because the money stays in Iowa.

Showmanship was won by Iowa Secretary of Ag Mike Naig and People’s Choice went to Tate’s Army, whose family used the Ronald McDonald house after a tragic lawnmower injury.
