Iowa Gambling Considers Mobile Gaming

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission recently heard from a company which offers advanced wagering on horse races combined with games that can be played on your phone. There are already two companies providing advanced wagering, and commission chair Jeff Lamberti says they wanted to see what this company had to offer as the industry continues to evolve.

Lamberti says the move to more on-line gambling depends what lawmakers want to do.

He says on-line poker and other types of gambling were discussed in the last session of the legislature and the casino industry is really struggling with what to do.

The advanced deposit wagering company the commission heard form would provide games that could be played, but the games would not impact the winnings players get from betting on the horse races.
