DuPont officials say the company needs another three months to complete merger activities with Dow. Iowa Farmers Union President Aaron Lehman is hoping if that’s allowed it will give them more time to weigh in on their opposition to the merger as well as to other proposed ag company mergers under consideration.
He says they’re also watching deals involving Bayer and Monsanto as well as Chem China and Syngenta.
Lehman says the timing of these mergers is bad given the depressed agricultural economy.
The initial closing date on the Dow DuPont merger was March but now they hope to complete it by the end of June.
