Iowa Farmers Union members will be participating in this week’s National Farmers Union’s FLY In in the nation’s capital Wednesday through Friday. Iowa Farmers Union President Aaron Lehman says getting Congress to pass a new farm bill is their first major goal.

He says their second main concern is to get the Administration and Congress to come up with a resolution to the current trade war which is having a major negative impact on their member’s livelihoods.

Lehman says their final two goals revolve around addressing the ag market concentration issue and finding a solution to pesticide drift issues.

Lehman says the best lobbyists for Rural America are farmers themselves and that’s why this Fly In event is so important.
