Last week the American Soybean Association Board of Directors elected John Heisdorffer to serve as the organization’s President for 2018. The Keota, Iowa farmer says while in this leadership position he’ll focus on trade.

He says another goal is completing the next farm bill and making sure lawmakers put together solid farm legislation, with a robust crop insurance program.

Heisdorffer says they are also working to get a new CEO in place for ASA by spring to replace Steve (senn-ski) Censky who left to serve as USDA Deputy Secretary.

Heisdorffer says they’ll also continue to work for solutions on the dicamba issue and make sure producers have that weed control option available.
