Iowa Farm Bureau President Craig Hill says on his trip to Iowa this week President Trump touched many issues important to his group and the agricultural industry. He says estate tax reform was mentioned as one of Trump’s top priorities for Congress.

He says one of the overlooked issues hurting agriculture is the need to replace the Affordable Care Act. He says by January of 2018, there will be 72,000 Iowans not covered by health insurance.

Hill says they’re hopeful the President can work with Congress to make headway on not only health insurance reform, but tax and reform, which are priorities for farmers and ranchers.

Hill was pleased the President came to Iowa accompanied by both the Agriculture and Commerce Secretaries. He was also joined by Governor Kim Reynolds and Terry Branstad, who is the new Ambassador to China.
