Those opposed to moving the USDA Economic Research Service and National I Institute of Food Agriculture offices out of Washington D.C. have been putting pressure on agricultural appropriators to keep that from happening. Iowa Farmers Union President Aaron Lehman who also opposes the move says it’s positive appropriators are being talked to about the issue.

He says any move of those offices will be costly and lead to poorer services in the long run.

Lehman says the proper vetting has never been used in dealing with the movement of ERS and NIFA.

Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue is planning to move NIFA and ERS sometime in 2019.
