Wednesday, the Iowa Farm Bureau is presenting a grain bin safety and rescue webinar. National Education Center for Ag Safety Director Dan Neenan is the featured speaker. He says one key for grain bin safety is to make sure and condition the grain before it’s put into storage because that will help prevent many of the engulfments.
Neenan says he’ll also talk about the five basic rules for proper safety around grain bins.
Neenan says 2010 was the worst and most deadliest year for grain bin fatalities and engulfments. He says that year was similar to this year in that there was a late harvest and high moisture.
