The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association says motorists in the Hawkeye state purchased 3.3 million gallons of E 85 in the third quarter. Iowa RFA Executive Director Monte Shaw says that’s the third highest sale of E 85 in any quarter on record.
Shaw says he expects Iowa motorists to reach that record level of E 85 purchases.
Shaw says there are several reasons for E 85’s popularity in Iowa. He says not only is it the price, it’s also the fact it’s homegrown, reduces foreign independence and is a clean burning fuel. E 85 is currently sold at more than 200 fueling site in Iowa and can be used in all flex fuel vehicles.
