Iowa Corn Growers President Wants Trade War Resolved, Not Aid

Iowa Corn Growers Association President Mark Recker says he appreciates President Donald Trump’s efforts to help farmers and ranchers hurt by retaliatory tariffs. However, he says the top priority for the administration must be to resolve the trade war and repair relationships with U.S. trading partners.

He’s encouraged by the third leg in the administration’s aid stool, which is the trade promotion program.

Recker is hoping the Trump administration will not only focus on solving the trade war, but will negotiate a positive remake to the North American Free Trade Agreement to help.

Recker is encouraged that Mexico’s new President wants to get NAFTA completed as soon as possible.
