Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds in her latest Condition of the State address talked about asking the legislature to reduce property and income taxes. Sharing her wish for tax reduction on those is Iowa Corn Growers Association President Jim Greif.

The Governor talked about having a slight one cent increase in sales tax to cover the property and income tax reduction. Greif thinks that’s the fairest way to go.

Reynolds also wants to put more funding into the state’s renewable fuel infrastructure program. Greif says that’s also a priority for corn growers.

Greif also wants to see improvements in the state’s water quality and support for the nutrient reduction management program as well as funding for conservation and cover crops.
