Iowa Senator Joni Ernst withstand a challenge from Democrat Theresa Greenfield in Tuesday’s election and is being returned to the Senate. Iowa Corn Grower’s Association past President and current Chairman Jim Greif says that’s positive for agriculture and for corn growers and their issues.

He says it’s unfortunate the tone of the Senate campaign was a bit ugly and that there was so much money spent on the race.

Greif says another positive result for agriculture and for corn growers is the election of Republican Ashley Hinson to the House replacing incumbent Democrat Abby Finkenauer.

Greif says going forward he hopes the Senators and Representatives will work for more exports for U.S. agriculture and a trade resolution with China.
