The Environmental Protection Agency is in the process of deciding whether or not to re-register Glyphosate. Iowa Corn Grower’s Association President Carl Jardon says it’s an important crop protection product used by most growers and should be re-registered.

He says it’s important to get the proper information out to the agency and to consumers about how important Glyphosate is.

Jardon says Glyphosate is a very safe product and recent attacks against it trying to tie it as a cancer causing agent doesn’t hold water.

Jardon also says if Glysophate were not re-registered it would hamper no-till conservation which is enabled by using the product. No-till helps conserve soil, preserves and increases nutrients, improves water quality and traps excess carbon in the soil.
