Newly Elected Iowa Congressman Randy Feenstra of Hull has been named to the House Agriculture Committee. He’s looking forward to serving on the panel and helping the producers he represents. Feenstra says they have a number of issues they can have an impact on including the writing of a new farm bill.

He says the Ag Committee also will take a look at broadband expansion, ag technology and making sure trade deals are working properly.

Feenstra says agriculture is critical to the nation’s economy and needs to have all the support it can get.

Feenstra says as far as trade goes, there may be some tweaks that can be made to the USMCA now that it’s a year old and also making sure China keeps up with its phase one trade commitments. He also says there are possible future trade pacts in the offing with both the European Union and the United Kingdom.
