The processing plant closings due to the coronavirus is causing many hogs to be euthanized. Iowa Congressman Steve King was in Worthington on Wednesday at a conference hosted by House Ag Committee Chairman Collin Peterson. He says the JBS plant there has been given permission and begun euthanizing hogs.

He says the numbers of hogs that have had to be euthanized are growing daily.

King says he’ll work with his colleagues in Congress to work to get the processing plants re-opened.

King says he was asked by House Ag Chairman Collin Peterson to attend the meeting in Worthington.
