Today is funnel day in the Iowa Legislature when all bills have to be introduced or be dead for the session. The Iowa Cattlemen’s Association is focusing on some bills they want to see passed. Director of Government Relations Cora Fox says there are two bills dealing with ag labor.

She says they also want lawmakers to approve a measure to provide a loan repayment program for veterinarians.

Fox doesn’t anticipate any movement or success with anti agriculture type bills impacting feedlots or cattle producers this session.

Fox says ICA young leader members shared the Association’s legislative priorities when they met with lawmakers this week.
