The Iowa Cattlemen’s Association has not come out with a position yet regarding the recent report issued by the Iowa Policy Project. Despite that, Association President David Trowbridge says for the state to institute a moratorium against confined animal feeding operations as the report calls for would do great harm to Iowa’s cattle industry

He says Iowa’s cattle industry already faces tough regulations and has responded positively to those.

The Iowa Policy Report also called for throwing out the Master Matrix. Trowbridge says that system has worked well and should be left in place.

Trowbridge says the Master Matrix is a very thorough and science based program.
