This week, 600 cattle producers from across the country are in Denver at the National Cattlemen Beef Association’s summer meeting. Iowa Cattlemen’s President Ed Greiman of Garner serves on a committee looking at mandatory price reporting which is being reauthorized. He says they’re working with USDA’s Ag Marketing Service in bringing forth a proposal

Greiman says his committee is looking at proposing a basis trade report and having it as part of the mandatory price reporting reauthorization measure.

Greiman says the other issue Iowa Cattlemen are most concerned with that will be talked about at the summer meeting is EPA’s proposed Waters of the U.S.rule. He’s encouraging producers to make sure and comment on that by the October 21 deadline.
