Problems Iowa cattle producers are having with the Livestock Forage disaster program are not due to the Farm Service Agency. That’s according to Iowa Cattlemen Association President Ed Greiman of Garner. He says FSA workers have gone through the proper training. Greiman says the problem is with how the program is defined and who is eligible for assistance.
Greiman says he’s working with Senator Grassley, the Ag Secretary and FSA officials to try and find the proper and most efficient solution to the problem.
Greiman says most Midwest producers like himself hay and graze their acres so it’s not one size fits all that brings the best government program benefits.
