EPA’s Waters of the U.S. rule is facing a lot of opposition including a bill introduced in the U.S. House this week to stop it. Companion legislation is also being pushed in the Senate. Iowa Cattlemen’s Association President Ed Greiman of Garner says even though EPA says their rule is just a clarification of the Clean Water Act, the reality is altogether different and will result in producers having to defend their normal practices in court.

Greiman says if EPA isn’t stopped on this proposal, all waters will be subject to regulation and private property rights will be violated.

Greiman says he’s hoping the House and Senate will come together to prevent EPA from pushing through their proposed rule and that President Obama will sign the measure.
