A restaurant in Marshalltown, Iowa has been named for serving this year’s “Best Burger” by the Iowa Beef Industry Council.  The Flying Elbow is described as an alternative sports bar and grill.   Kylie Petersen is the Director of Marketing and Communications with the Iowa Beef Industry Council.  She says the Flying Elbow refers to their hamburgers as Smashburgers.

The Flying Elbow, according to Petersen, has only been serving burgers for about six months.  She explains what was featured on the winning burger entry.

Petersen says Goodman’s smashburger features a blend of least three different cuts of beef and sourced from Midwest cattle.

The Iowa Beef official says year-after-year when the best burger is named, it generates publicity and stimulates consumer interest and demand.  She says often times a restaurant after receiving the title of “best burger” will see a dramatic increase in their business.
