The Iowa Beef Industry Council has announced its top ten restaurants as finalists for the title “Best Burger.” Kylie Peterson is the Marketing and Communication Director with the Iowa Beef Industry Council. She says the contest started 13 years ago as a way to encourage beef consumption.
Peterson says restaurants can use any spices, toppings or condiments of their choosing. She says burgers are judged based on taste, appearance, and the proper cooking temperature of 160 degrees. Bonus points are given for the atmosphere and ascetics of the restaurant. The winning entry will be announced on May 2nd for the kickoff to May Beef Month. Western Iowa has two finalists: Cattlemen’s Steakhouse at Sac City, and Victoria’s Station at Harlan.
