The Iowa State Fair, often touted as the country’s biggest and best, is off to a great start. Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey says the annual event showcases the state’s number one industry as well as the achievements of 4-H and FFA members. He says they are expecting a third of the state’s population to attend the fair.
Northey says the state fair is a super venue for educating the public about agriculture, especially livestock production with the various shows and sales.
The 11-day fair runs through Sunday.
