Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey was just sworn in for his third term and will get right to work preparing for the upcoming state legislative session. He and Governor Branstad’s ag agenda includes increased water quality funding and trying to find support for state infrastructure improvements.
Northey says the agriculture community is united on the need for updating the deteriorating farm to market system of roads and bridges.

He says the Governor will also be launching a broadband initiative with the goal of having every acre covered in the state to facilitate agricultural technology use.
