Coalition for a Prosperous America leaders say the International Trade Commission is failing to respond to a letter they sent them. CPA Executive Director Michael Stumo says they’re letter indicated concerns about ITC doing a Trans Pacific Partnership study before the deal has even been finalized.
Stumo says past studies done by the ITC have been off base and have shown greater benefits from past trade agreements than have occurred. He says that’s evidenced by the current enormous trade deficit seen in the United States.
Stumo says any ITC report generated from the U.S. Trade Representative’s request without a final document would be misleading to Congress and the American public.
