The interim Joint Committee on Appropriations of the South Dakota legislature meets again tomorrow (Wednesday) in Pierre.

Their agenda includes updates on diversity offices on state university campuses, civics and history program funding and activation and funding of the National Guard for emergencies.

Co-Chair, Senator Jean Hunhoff of Yankton, says policy and not just spending is part of their authority…

Hunhoff says the Board of Regents has reacted to their input on diversity since their east river tour…

Hunhoff says they also want to hear more from the Regents on their progress under SB55…

Last years legislature passed SB55 mandating an extensive study of the structure of the Regents and the universities, looking for efficiencies and cost savings.
