Monsanto has announced that six recipients will be awarded research grants as part of their new Insect Management Knowledge Program. Researchers were granted awards of up to $250,000 per year for up to three years for outstanding research on insect resistance and management. Monsanto’s Tom Clark says it is an expansion of their corn rootworm program and will lead to more effective solutions for farmers in the future.
He says one of this year’s research awards went to Matthew O’Neal at Iowa State University.
Clark says the program allows researchers to look at more regional insect resistance issues that are economically damaging to row crops….something Monsanto is not able to focus on with their own research program.
