The new President of the Iowa Soybean Association farms near Davenport. Robb Ewoldt says two of the major priorities with their state policy is focused on taxes and infrastructure.

He says bringing agriculture’s message of how producers protect the environment with their sustainable practices is a constant challenge with dealing with a population so far removed from production agriculture who need to be educated.

Ewoldt says one of the federal issues ISA is keeping an eye on is the rewrite by the EPA and US Army Corps of Engineers of the Clean Water Rule.

Ewoldt says another thing soybean growers are watching is the demand for renewable diesel which could mean a lot for and economic boost for soybean farmers.
