This week the Nebraska Farmers Union along with other agricultural groups are hosting informational meetings to help producers learn more about a proposed chicken processing plant planned for Nebraska. Farmers Union President John Hansen says the facility owned by COSTCO will be a fairly large operation.

He says part of the purpose of these meetings is to help educate producers as to what they’re facing when they sign contracts to supply this plant.

Hansen says this type of processing facility will bring with it many economic benefits for the state and the region.

Meetings are set for today in Columbus from Noon to 2p.m. at the Columbus library, Wednesday night from 7 to 9 pm at the Saunders County Historical Society building in Wahoo and Thursday night 7 to 9 pm at the Arlington Multipurpose Senior Center in Arlington.
