Industrial Hemp Bill Revived, Amended, Sent Back to the SD House

The bill to authorize the production of industrial hemp in South Dakota is headed back to the House.

The bill was passed out of the Senate on reconsideration after being amended.

Senator Jordan Youngberg of Madison says the bill was changed so the fees go to the general fund….

Senator John Wiik of Big Stone City says there are extra dollars that legislators will have to come up with..

The bill passed on a vote of twenty-one to fourteen.

The bill has not yet been placed on the House calendar.
Legislators leave Pierre later today for a long weekend and come back for the final three days of the main run on Monday.
