The Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska held their annual meeting over the weekend in Broken Bow. ICON President Jim Dinklage says one of the major issues coming out of the convention was members wanting Mandatory Country of Of Origin Labeling reinstated.

He says without COOL in place, consumers are confused about what their getting.

Dinklage says Truth in Labeling needs to be required at the federal level because consumers are also getting confused about all the fake meat that’s becoming available.

Dinklage says the future of the beef business in Nebraska is probably under assault right now with fake meat. He says it should be illegal for fake meat companies to use the word meat or burgers on their product.
