Incumbent North Dakota Ag Commissioner Doug Goehring won the Republican nomination to seek another term. He beat back challenger Judy Estenson with 624 delegate votes to 245. Goehring who lost the backing of the state farm bureau says his party is now united behind him and he’s looking forward to the general election as he faces off against rancher Ryan Taylor.
Goehring says he’s carrying the message of pushing forward diversified agriculture in North Dakota as he takes on Taylor in the general election.
Goehring says agriculture is an important part of North Dakota’s economy as 25 percent of the state gets its living from some type of agriculture.
