Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley who will chair the Senate Finance Committee in the new Congress wants to make permanent the tax cuts passed last year. He says individuals need the certainty that are now afforded to corporations.

He also wants to see more tax relief for middle income Americans.

Grassley knows he faces a challenge dealing with House Democrats who now control that body’s Ways and Means Committee and that they want to raise taxes.

Grassley says it would be a serious mistake to raise taxes at a time when they’ve been able to get the economy growing again.
