Alcester, South Dakota pork producer Steve Rommereim is the new President of the National Pork Board. He was elected this week at the group’s annual meeting at World Pork Expo in Des Moines, Iowa. Rommereim says in the year ahead the Pork Checkoff will focus on driving consumer demand through sustainability and that’s through their WE CARE 2 point O program.

As Pork Board President he wants to make sure the Pork Checkoff continues to benefit producers and is run as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Rommereim says they just released their return on investment analysis of the pork checkoff they do every five years.

Serving with Rommereim on the Pork Checkoff’s executive officer team are David Newman, a pork producer from Arkansas as Vice President and Mike Skahill from Virginia as Treasurer. Terry O’Neel a pork producer from Nebraska will serve as immediate past President.
