South Dakota’s slowing Covid-19 vaccination rate has caught the attention of some legislators.

Representative Linda Duba of Sioux Falls talked about that rate at a meeting of the Joint Committee on Appropriations yesterday (Wednesday)…..

Duba says she will contact Health Department Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon to talk about vaccination incentives..

Legislative Research Council fiscal analyst Joey Knofczynski says states can do vaccine lotteries under federal spending rules….

The committee took no action on Duba’s proposal. Just under fifty two percent of the state’s eligible population has gotten a vaccination so far.
