Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has signed several bills involving tax cuts. Included in that personal income tax, change of property taxes funding mental health and elimination of the state inheritance tax. Iowa Farmers Union President Aaron Lehman says that’s both bad and good. He says IFU members don’t see the inheritance tax as that big of a problem.

He says his group’s member are glad to see the funding of mental health services changed to state funding and removal of property taxes to pay for those.

Lehman says while many people don’t like the idea of paying taxes, sometimes they provide an important way to pay for needed services whether it be for farmers or ranchers or businesses.

Lehman says his group will continue to weigh in with the Governor and state lawmakers as it relates to taxes and government services.
