The Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska wrapped up their recent convention by passing several resolutions, including one asking the State Brand Board to keep the present inspection fee structure in place. President Dave Wright says they oppose the board giving the proposed fee discount to feedlots.

Wright says they also want property tax relief and part of the way to achieve that is to increase the state sales tax.

He says they also approved policy to work with their state’s congressional delegation to ask for changes at the CME and an asset based exchange.

Wright says at their convention they also heard presentations from R-CALF CEO Bill Bullard and had a panel on wind energy.
